Zirconium Isotope Heterogeneities in the Solar System

چکیده
Introduction: Evidence for isotopic anomalies in bulk car-bonaceous chondrites relative to other meteorites, the moon and Earth have recently been reported for several elements (Sm, Nd, Ba, Ti and Cr[1, 2, 3]). The nature of these heterogeneities is not very well understood. The isotopic composition of Zr mainly reflects a mixture of different sand r-process nucleosynthetic components. The s-process is capable of producing 90 Zr, 91 Zr, 92 Zr and 94 Zr, while 96 Zr needs higher neutron fluxes, making the

Titanium Isotopes in CAIs - Heterogeneities in the early solar system
Calcium-rich-Aluminum-rich refractory inclusions are considered to be the first objects yet identified that formed in the solar system. It is now established that most (but not all) of them contain nucleosynthetic anomalies from e-, p-, r-, and/or s-processes. Exactly how and when these heterogeneities in the dust that formed the solar system were established is not yet clear. For a better unde...

We have investigated Mo and W isotope compositions in acid leachates and an insoluble residue from the Murchison carbonaceous chondrite. The new data reveal variable enrichments of sand r-process isotopes and demonstrate that several isotopically diverse presolar components are present in Murchison. The insoluble residue is enriched in s-process Mo and W, evidently due to the enrichment s-proce...
متن کاملHomogeneous distribution of Fe isotopes in the early solar nebula
To examine the iron (Fe) isotopic heterogeneities of CI and ordinary chondrites, we have analyzed several large chips (approximately 1 g) from three CI chondrites and three ordinary chondrites (LL5, L5, and H5). The Fe isotope compositions of five different samples of Orgueil, one from Ivuna and one from Alais (CI chondrites), are highly homogeneous. This new dataset provides a dFe average of 0...

Introduction: The numerous nucleosynthetic isotopic anomalies found in refractory inclusions, in presolar grains, and in special phases carried by chondrites suggest that the matter constituting the solar system results from a mixing between different sources. Recently, Ni nucleosynthetic anomalies have been found in various meteorites, including iron meteorites, ureilites, chondrites [e.g. 1-3...
متن کاملNiobium-zirconium chronometry and early solar system development.
Niobium-92 (92Nb) decays to zirconium-92 (92Zr) with a half-life of 36 million years and can be used to place constraints on the site of p-process nucleosynthesis and the timing of early solar system processes. Recent results have suggested that the initial 92Nb/93Nb of the solar system was high (>10(-3)). We report Nb-Zr internal isochrons for the ordinary chondrite Estacado (H6) and a clast o...
